  • Yes, but we don't have our own theatres and embryology laboratory. So, in order to facilitate high tech treatments, Dr. Riordan works closely with First IVF in Clane. She can design your stimulation protocol and supervise the treatment cycle to the point of egg retrieval. Scanning and blood tests done during the cycle will be carried out with First First Steps Fertility or in Clane, depending on your preference. You will then travel to Clane for the egg retrieval, the creation of your embryos and for embryo transfer. Alternatively, you may choose to be referred to a different IVF clinic where one of their fertility specialists will take over your care.

  • Absolutely. Male factor plays at least a part in about 50% of couples with fertility problems. It is important to find this out before the female endures all sorts of unnecessary investigations. With a background in urology, Dr. Riordan can assess men for many issues such as erectile dysfunction, varicocele, poor sperm production. In many cases, you can take measures to improve things; sometimes with lifestyle changes or medication, sometimes more advanced intervention is required. There are very few properly trained andrologists in Ireland and Dr. Riordan will ensure that you see the most appropriate specialist.

  • Dr. Riordan can offer ovulation induction, follicle tracking and Timed Sexual Intercourse (TSI), using drugs like Clomid and Letrozole or with injectable drugs such as Gonal F or Menopur.

    For more high tech treatments, such as Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) or IVF, she works closely with First IVF in Clane. She is also happy to refer you on to any other fertility clinic for these treatments, if you prefer.

  • No, you can book an appointment directly without referral.

  • No, you can book semen analysis yourself by emailing the clinic. However, in the event that the result is not normal, it is best if you have a doctor with whom you can discuss the result. This may be your own GP, or you can arrange to have a follow up with Dr. Riordan.

  • Dr. Riordan is happy to see anyone who has concerns about their fertility, is worried that it may be taking them too long to get pregnant or who has already been through fertility treatment and is confused and uncertain what to do next. She can offer treatment such as ovulation induction using medication like Clomid with ultrasound monitoring, right through to advanced treatment such as IVF.

  • Yes, we can do testing along with semen analysis through SPZ Lab in Copenhagen.
